I get this question a lot from guys running mid-tier blow molding machines. They want to know if swapping out old heating elements is actually worth the effort, or if it’s just a fancy way to spend money without seeing more bottles coming off the line. The short answer? Yes, it can. But it all comes down to how the heat actually hits the plastic.
The “Secret” to Faster Heating
Here’s the thing: PET preforms are picky. You need to get them to that perfect “glass transition” temperature without accidentally scorching the plastic. We focus on short-wave radiation. Why? Because it punches through the PET walls way faster than the standard long-wave heaters you’re probably using now. When you slide in a higher-wattage halogen module, the preform spends less time in the oven. **Less time heating means you can crank up the machine speed.**It’s that simple.
Will It Actually Fit?
Nobody wants to spend a weekend rewiring a machine. That’s why we make these as drop-in replacements. We use R7s or Sk15 connectors, so they plug right into your factory setup without a headache. Whether you’re on a 230V or 400V system, the real magic is the wattage per millimeter. A 2500W tube puts out a massive amount of heat density. But a word of warning: if you jump up in wattage, check your cooling fans. If your fans can’t keep up with the extra heat, you might end up warping your reflectors. And nobody wants that.
No More Burnt Plastic

The Catch
