We built this indoor infrared heater for places like restaurants and yoga studios. Places where you need serious, focused warmth—without the noise and the draft of a fan. Here’s the idea: a halogen element inside a quartz tube creates shortwave infrared radiation. It warms people and surfaces directly, skipping the air altogether.
Power, Voltage, and Output: The Heart of It
Inside is a high-output halogen lamp, around 2500W. Why so much? Because you need heat that comes on fast and packs a punch, all in a compact size. And it runs on 230V–240V, the same power setup most commercial spaces already have. The shape matters, too. A 300mm tube helps concentrate the radiation into a tight, controllable pattern. Mount it overhead, and you can aim the warmth exactly where you want it—over tables, by the entrance, or right onto the yoga floor.
Material & Design: The Details That Hold Up
We use quartz, not regular glass. It handles the intense filament temperature and won’t crack when things heat up and cool down quickly. Inside, the halogen cycle keeps the element stable and fights blackening, so it lasts longer. A reflective coating on the back pushes the heat downward. That means more usable warmth where you need it, and less wasted. The R7s connector is a no-nonsense, industrial choice. It makes solid contact, makes lamp replacement simple, and it stands up to vibration and the daily cycle of heating and cooling.
Precision Heat for Indoor Comfort
In a restaurant, this heater hits the cold spots without sending drafts over food or guests. In a hot yoga studio, it adds a layer of radiant warmth that works with the room temperature, so people feel comfortable without the air getting oppressive. Now, there is a trade-off. A 2500W halogen tube is powerful and focused, so you do need to plan mounting, clearance, and ventilation. But when you control the beam, you control the heat. And that’s the point.
