If your preform temperature starts drifting, stretch becomes inconsistent, necks crystallize, and you watch good material go straight into the scrap bin. We built a high-power infrared emitter to take the guesswork out and make the heat repeatable. What matters under the hood The core is a short-wave halogen quartz lamp. It throws focused infrared energy that penetrates the PET wall without scorching the surface. Power and size are spec’d for actual machines: 1200–2400 W, 220–240 V, and lengths that drop straight into OEM heating tunnels. The R7s connector and the exact quartz tube geometry give you a 1:1 fit on Sidel, Krones, SIPA, Husky, SACMI, and Nissei ASB blow molders. Setpoint changes track immediately across the preform zones because the peak response is fast. Why it holds up on the floor With this emitter, the heating curve across the preform wall stays stable, which cuts down thin spots, flash, and stress marks. Faster thermal response means less time stabilizing after changeovers, so you can run more SKUs with fewer scrap lots. Energy use drops because the lamp heats on demand and cools quickly, avoiding idle losses. We’ve seen units run 5,000+ hours with less than 5% output drop, which stretches replacement intervals and keeps downtime off the schedule. The install details that bite Installation is straightforward, but alignment is tight. The quartz tube has to sit square in the reflector and clear the preform path without throwing a shadow. If the tunnel is dirty, life shortens — keep reflectors clean and confirm airflow and cooling are doing their job. Match the lamp voltage to the socket, and match the emitter length to the cavity. Expect a higher peak current on startup, so make sure your heater relay and wiring can handle the inrush.
